Berenice Lopez-Dorsey - founder

Move-In Ready founder, Berenice Lopez-Dorsey, moved to Portland from Mexico in 1992. She left a Real Estate career and accounting degree to share her life with husband, Doug Dorsey, a professional painter since 1981.

She left her management position with Washington Mutual Bank in 1997 to become a full-time mother. Soon she found herself busy taking care of her rental property and other properties for friends and builders. It was then she discovered the importance of making a home “move in ready” and how difficult it can be to find good subcontractors.

In 2001, Move-In Ready became a Limited Liability Company and hired their first 2 employees. Now, the Move-In Ready team of eleven members includes qualified professional painters, cleaners, maintenance workers and landscapers.

Referrals from existing clients and the ability to provide excellent customer service and anticipate client’s needs has been the key to Move-In Ready’s success. At Move-In Ready the goal is to provide quality and reliable services at affordable prices to all residential home owners, landlords, property management companies and builders.

It is the satisfaction of helping others, volunteering at her daughter’s school, making homes a better place to live, giving back to the community and providing jobs to wonderful people, that makes Berenice exceed expectations.

In her spare time Berenice enjoys gathering with family and friends, spending time with her daughter, helping kids read in English and Spanish, “cleaning and organizing”, yard work, decorating, creating beautiful rooms or simply planning a “fiesta”.

Berenice says, “Our team members are our family and you will always be treated with courtesy, respect and gratitude. We are only as good as our last job and at the end of each day we go home knowing that we did our best”.
